What is the difference between Essence, Serum and Toner?
With new skincare trends and products constantly filling our feeds, and our minds, it can be confusing to keep track of what does what.
While essence, toner, and serum can appear alike, only one product has the ability to do it all.
Toners
Toners are generally alcohol-based skincare products, and focus on providing the skin with a deeper cleanse.
And while toners work to tighten pores and balance skin tone, they generally work best for people with oily, and acne prone skin.
Serums
Serums have a different role in skincare routines, focusing on targeting specific issues.
Serums have high levels of active ingredients, and are generally much thicker and more viscous than essence. The function of a serum is to penetrate deeper into the skin.
Serums also need to be followed up by a moisturizer to seal the ingredients into the skin.
Essences and serums can work together by applying The Essence after cleansing, and then applying serum on top. Finish off by applying your favorite moisturizer.
