A Makeup Artist's Tips for Prepping Your Skin
Whether you're more of a "no-makeup makeup look" person or prefer a bold red lip and cat eye, makeup is always a fun way to express yourself and enhance your features. What's not as fun? Trying to put makeup on dry, flaky skin. We spoke to Makeup Artist Ashley Rebecca to learn her top tips for prepping your skin so you have the perfect palette to apply your makeup look.
1. Make sure your skin is hydrated and free of any flakes that can show when wearing foundation. Using Saro de Rúe each night before bed will lock in some serious moisture, and you can opt for a chemical exfoliant or physical exfoliant to get rid of any flaky skin.
Makeup Artist Ashley Rebecca uses Saro de Rúe Freeze-Dried Hyaluronic Acid Anti-Aging System.
2. Use a brightening face mask before your makeup, this gives the skin an added boost of radiance that shows immediately, resulting in dewy, gorgeous skin.
3. Stick to the basics and don't use too many products when prepping your skin before makeup. Layering too many items can cause products to pill and makeup to not apply evenly. Since you've got your hydration covered with Saro de Rue, the rest of your routine should be 1-2 products to boost radiance.
